Famous people and 80's Rock
Friends often ask what famous personalities I've seen since moving to LA, and I usually have to admit that I haven't met too many. I mean, hanging out with The Govanator, Fergi, and Mr. Belding have really been my only claims to fame. Until now.
This past Monday I was hanging out with some of my friends at a Karaoke place, as I often do. We were talking and munching on pretzels when someone new pulled up a chair and introduced himself to everyone at the table. Apparently his friends were on singing on stage at that point, so he was just looking for someplace to sit. We're all pretty friendly there, and people come and go from tables all the time--no big deal.
As we were watching his friends goof around on stage Mark leaned over and whispered, "You know how that is, right? That's Lex Luther." Ah, I knew I recognized him from somewhere. I was thinking I had just seen him around before, but I actually just knew him from Smallville.
Anyway, Michael (aka, Lex) turned out to pretty good guy. We sometimes forget that movie stars are just normal people with a little bit of extra fame. He and his friends stuck around for a while and sang some 80's soft rock. They even gave us high five's (and some encouragement) after we sang an "interesting" rendition of "Beauty and the Beast."
Good times. Good times.
