Now that one I felt...

Don't worry, guys. I'm still here. That's right, I've made it through my first earthquake. Originally it was rated a 5.3, but I just read on the news that it was actually a 4.9.

It was quite an experience. Everyone at work knew what it was right away--it took me a couple of seconds to figure out. One of my neighbors was yelling, "Hey, it's an earthquake!" Then I yelled back, "Oh no! What do I do?" By the time I found a doorway to stand under, it was already over.

Let's just hope I we don't have too many more of those, and that they stay far, far away. I've been kind of obsessively checking the US Geological Survey website for the rest of the day. Theoretically it can tell you when and where to expect big quakes. A lot of good it did on this one, since I don't think anyone was really expecting it.

In other news, I just got back from a great weekend back home. I've got lots of great pictures from Nora's graduation and Steve's b-day. I'll try to post them sometime here in the next few days. Here's one to hold you over in the meantime:
