The Happiest Place on Earth

I don't think I've ever mentioned it on this blog, but I've been working at Disney for about a month now. It's really exciting for me since this job is exactly what I've been looking for. The fringe benefits are pretty good as well.

My official title is "production associate," but I end up doing more script coordinating than anything else. This hasn't been like other PA jobs where you end up making coffee and copying all day, which is great. Much of my job involves attending storyboard pitch sessions to keep track of script changes. I then make sure all the new lines are recorded in scratch (practice voices) and production (the real voices you will hear in the movie).

In any case, the reason for that quick job description was so that I could tell you about the DisneyToon Studios party we had yesterday. It was a pretty good time overall, and it gave me a chance to meet some people from other productions. I also was able to talk with some of the directors and creative execs in a more casual setting--something that doesn't happen very often for me. I'm most impressed just by the quality and amazing level of talent that was present at the gathering. There are some really good people working at that studio.
