Look! Everyone is Updating!

I just checked the H-C site and realized I'm the only one without a recent update--better get my act together. Oh, of course Mom hasn't ever used the site, but that will soon change. Steve and I just came up with an idea...

We're turning mom's page into the online family cookbook. Everyone can feel free to contribute your favorite "Mom" recipes. These will probably include some from Grandmother and Grandfather too. The more the better I say. I keep losing those little index cards, and this way we'll always have access to the best meals from back in the day. So will the rest of the world! Soon the Holden-Corbett family cookbook will be so popular that it will be translated into 23 languages and be published around the world. Just wait and see.

I love three day weekends

Not that I'm going to do anything terribly exciting this weekend. I just like that feeling on Sunday when you know there's still one more day off. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with that extra day, but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

I'm typing right now from the convent because I was trying to get some writing done and I needed a break. A break from what, I don't know since I have been doing more reading than writing. What convent you ask? I guess it's not really called a convent anymore, though that's what it was once upon a time. I think they've renamed it to something like "St. Finbar's United Parish Community All-Purpose Center of Tomorrow." So that's why I still call it the convent. It's a good quiet place to get work done when it's not in use.

Okay, back to work, or maybe not. We'll see.

Happy New Year!

I'm just getting ready to head back to LA after a great vacation, so this will be a short one. I've spent that last week or so back in Michigan having a great time with my family. With Christmas, New Years, and two birthdays all in one week how can you not have fun? We even had time to take our yearly family picture, which will soon appear in our belated Christmas letter. Here is a sneak peak since it will probably not go out for a few more days.
