Back on the Lot

I was back on the lot this week for the first time since I was started my new job. I'm working in a separate building, so I rarely get over there. It's quite a place--I need to find a way stop by more often.

It was great because we drove right up to the main entrance, flashed our badges, and they gave us a priority parking spot. Actually, I don't think it was the badge that got us the good parking. More likely it was the eight cups of coffee we were delivering to the executives...

Luckily coffee delivery isn't a normal part of my job (thank goodness...it is for many people out here). I don't mind it when needed though, especially if it gives me an excuse to wander around the lot for a little while.

A Weekend in Chicago

I just came back from a great whirlwind weekend in Chicago. The original reason for the trip was my friend Angela's wedding. Then I was talking to Tyson about a week ago and he said, "Hey, if you're going to Chicago, so am I. Lets get the band back together." So we did.

I got into Chicago Friday night and met Tyson and Ben at the airport. Scott and Matt also came into town for the reunion, so we all converged at Ben's place. Good times all around. We're spread all across the country (and even the world) now, so it's great to get together once in a while. Ben, thanks again for hosting us, and everyone else, thanks for making the trip. I'll post pictures of the occasion on this site once I get things organized.

Then there was Ang's wedding on Saturday, which was also a great time. There was a beautiful ceremony (of course), and you just can't beat a good bagpipe band at the reception. I also want it known by everyone that Danielle stood up and sang the fight song. That's right, she's a Domer now! It was great seeing everyone. We'll catch up again at the next Brownsville reunion.

And of course, there's no trip to Chicago without a quick visit with Ryan. Luckily we were able to meet for breakfast before my plane took off today. Hopefully we'll be able to get together again for at least one home football game this year--BC maybe?

More later...

Too Much Fun

There's just too much fun and not enough time to write blog entrees. Here is one highlight from last week:

Not long ago I went to Disneyland with a few friends. I broke down and used my comp passes, which meant we only needed to pay for food.

I've never been to Disneyland, though I've been to Disney World a couple of times. There were some different rides, and I didn't remember most of them anyway since it's been so long. We did all the usual: Small World, the Teacups (see LA pictures), Pirates, the Haunted Mansion and so on. We also stopped into California Adventures (yeah hopper pass) to do a few rides of the main rides. Overall it was a great time. I'll need to go back again soon when once the summer crowds leave.

Oh, I should also say that the Fastpass might just be the best thing ever. You just put your ticket in the machine and come back an hour later without waiting in line. Brilliant. I love that place.

Disneyland Parking and One day passes: $0.00
Food for one day (20% discount): $10.00
Taking time to be a kid again: Priceless
